Morning recipes!

One of the most useful recipes that i use to push myself further in my career & work is to increase my knowledge through early morning injections! A little bit harmful especially if ur still in “Out of reach” mode… But hay… No pain… NO gain!!! ; )

Following is my recipes with the suggested dose amounts:

JavaWorld : One of the great sites that talks about it all! Core Java, Enterprise Java, Mobile Java and much more! Pay it a visit every 3 days/week at least if you just wanna be update to date. And as much as necessary if you find yourself below level…

Builder AU : A general website for all kind of developers (Java, C++, .Net, PHP, Oracle, …etc). Endless amount of articles and code snippets. What makes it special for me is its “Strategy” section that is filled with articles and tips on the business of IT and how to conquer it all. Pay it almost a daily visit to be updated with the IT industry, don’t forget to check the archives.

JavaPractices : If you this site from long time ago, then you’re hell lucky! I only came across it recently! Not that fancy with the looks & design, but the content… WOW! A marvelous site that has put into implementation LOADS of java examples & practices that are divided into categories. Pay this site a visit whenever you wanna push yourself one step further in programming. (Make it as much as possible!)

Sun : well… there is no other better place than the source of java itself “SUN” for being up to date with the java language documentation, downloads, news updates, resources, events and much others… Pay it a visit once a week at least.

p.s. All previous recipes & ingredients did not show any harmful side effects when overdosed…

If you got any more recipes, i would like to know… = )

Some books to recommend…

If you’re a developer, working on whatever Object Oriented language you like, in one level or another, you should start to consider reading this book “Design Patters: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software” also well known as “GoF design patterns“… This book has been the source guidance for every object oriented developer to build your own piece of art using the best known and used design patterns. This book is like a Design Patterns Bible! If you wanna read about it a little more, wiki it, then BUY IT!

Another bible that is aimed for J2EE architects & developers, recommended & printed by sun, is “Core J2EE Patterns“. This book includes large sets of blueprints for each single tier in your J2EE application (presentation & business tiers). And guess what, it uses the previous mentioned GoF design patterns book in creating patterns for J2EE application architectures with the addition of a VERY valuable chapter on refactoring your application to its best. That’s two books for J2EE developers, you can add this book from here to your cart list after the 1st one.

I may be able to upload some patterns from these 2 books later on and post them in here… or maybe post some good links to some other sites that’s explaining them.

Till then, if you don’t know about design patterns in software development, then you can read in here about it to have some idea.

Einstein… I just love this guy…

Albert Einstein!

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.

I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.

It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education.
